SkyBlock skill leveling, explained
One shared XP table, the 50/60 caps, Skill Average, and the grind to max.
SkyBlock progression is built around skills. Farming, Mining, Combat, Foraging, Fishing, Enchanting, Alchemy, Taming and Carpentry each level up as you do that activity, and all nine use the same experience table. Your Skill Average — the average of those skills excluding Carpentry, so eight of them — is the number players quote to sum up how developed a profile is.
The 50 and 60 caps
Most skills cap at level 50, which is a total of 55,172,425 skill XP. A handful — Mining, Combat, Enchanting and (once unlocked) Farming — extend to level 60, a much steeper 111,672,425 XP. The jump from 50 to 60 more than doubles the total XP, which is why level-60 skills are a serious flex.
Why the last levels crawl
The early skill levels are cheap to get you moving, but the per-level cost climbs steeply — the final levels each demand millions of XP on their own. That front-loaded ease and back-loaded grind is true of most SkyBlock progression, from skills to Catacombs.
Checking a skill
The Skill Level calculator turns skill XP into a level (set the 50 or 60 cap to match the skill), and the Pet Level calculator handles the separate pet XP curve.
Common questions
What about Runecrafting and Social?
Those two use their own, much smaller XP tables and cap at 25. Along with Carpentry, they’re left out of Skill Average — it averages the eight gathering and combat skills only.
Does a high Skill Average unlock anything?
Higher skills grant stats and account upgrades, and a high Skill Average is a common entry requirement for late-game guilds and carries.
